When you get the itch and the urge to squeeze the beat into a fine-tuner that spits the music back out into jazzy threads of minimal funk and modernist electronica - that's when you know you're by a Todd Bodine gig. Club calibration for the urban mind and your dancing feet, Tresor Club resident and Tresor Records artist Bodine delivers. Backed up by the solid mixing of resident Sebrok, the finest in contemporary house comes out in his sets each and every time. Downstairs on Wednesdays the emphasis is on discovering yet-unknown talent in the world of DJ's and we call it New Faces. Tonight DJ T.A.G. hosts the night's agenda and introduces A.L.X.S. from Berlin and Kemsprung from Blankenburg who gives us a live set to chew on. Friday, 21 November 2008 | midnight | Club Berlin It's always a pleasure to welcome Tresor Records artist Stewart Walker, and his residency in Tresor has produced many unforgettable nights. This is live dance music for adults with a strict sense of rhythm and electronic soul - soundscapes that weave in and out of splendid grooves. Sharing the bill in the Batterieraum tonight is a rock in the Berlin club scene: Namito has filled dancefloors in the capital since the 90's with his terrific style of tech-house and house that infects you with pleasure. Ditto for our house resident SPUD and a nod towards making people shout with joy and dance till they drop! In the Tresor area down in the basement, we've got serious techno on the menu: Hanno Hinkelbein epitomizes the meaning of underground Berlin techno, and all you can do is experience the finesse of the art of alternative technoidism. Sharing the night with Hanno is BeNi who is guaranteed to lay down a set of experimental techno that fits in just fine in Tresor - just how we like it. Saturday, 22 November 2008 | midnight | Groove Machine + 5 Jahre Woitek & Leyk Munich's Richard Bartz is a true chameleon in the European club scene, delivering slick, clean house music with elements of many different electronic influences - his first singles "4 Degrees" and "Balance" are true classics. Now and then he treats us to a guest set and we suggest you come up in the Batterieraum and hear a finely-tuned live set for yourself. Because Woitek & Leyk are playing with him and together they deliver a form of modern dance music that is no less than delicious, celebrating five years of excellent club music and club nights deluxe - tonight is the influx of the great Groove Machine. Down through the tunnel and onto the Tresor Floor you can get a taste of two excellent Tresor techno DJ's Trias & Baeks. A solid team has emerged in their resident gigs, no fall-out just fall into the beat, seasoned intelligent techno, and you close your eyes to keep this moment forever - a moment of Tresor True Spirit. Last summer Tresor released the extraordinary album X-102 rediscovers The Rings of Saturn - a return to X-102's previous landmark work on our label in 1992. The release of the CD was followed by the première of the live show at last summer's SONAR Festival in Barcelona. Now the video film soundtrack of the work will have exclusive dates in France and in London in the coming months. If you are near these venues, don't miss the chance to see this extraordinary film.
