 Oscar Mulero gehört zur Champions League der Techno-DJ in der Welt. Der spanische Künstler spielt schon seit Jahren im Tresor Club und gehört offiziell spätestens zur Tresor Recording Artist Family seit seines Remixes von "Diagonal" auf der Last Man Standing EP von Pacou 2004 (Tre.209). Seine ganz eigene Maxi veröffentlichte Tresor 2007: "Only Dead Fish Go With The Flow (Tre.230). Jetzt liefert er ein Masterpiece der Mixarbeit und führt durch fast 20 Jahre Tresor-Geschichte. 12"-Raritäten und -Klassiker von 1991 bis heute, viele out of print und bisher nicht auf CD oder digital erhältlich. 30 Tracks incl. Jeff Mills ("Flood", "Robot Replica", "Late Night"; X-101 ("Sonic Destroyer"); X-103 ("10,000 Chariots") ; Drexciya ("Dr. Blowfins Black Storm", "Under Sea Disturbances"); Surgeon ("Box", "At The Heart Of It all"); Pacou ("The Guards", "Flex"); Model 500 ("Light Speed"); James Ruskin ("Lahaine" OVR Mix); Maurizio ("M4") uvm. Die Tracks sind alle Vinyl, der Mix ist ein "echter" Vinyl-Mix ohne Nachfolgebearbeitung am Computer.
 Oscar Mulero about his work:: "Ich fühlte mich sehr geehrt, als die Tresor Crew mich fragte, ob ich einen Tresor Mix machen will. Tresor Records war und ist eines der Schlüssellabels für meinen musikalischen Background, eines der signifikantesten und relevantesten Labels in der Geschichte der elektronischen Musik; und wenn wir über mehr über Techno sprechen, ein Label, dessen Release ich sehr viel gespielt habe in meinen DJ-Sets und die ich als Referenz benutzt habe, um meinen DJ- und Producer-Stil zu finden. Besonders war auch, dass ich aus dem gesamten Katalog wählen durfte, was bedeutete, mit Teilen der besten elektronischen Musik, die in den letzten 20 Jahren erschienen ist, zu arbeiten. Diese retrospektive Musikauswahl hat mir Raum gegeben, klassisches mit brandneuem Material zu verbinden, verschiedene Epochen in einem Mix zu verschmelzen - eine Spannbreite von Electro über Detroit Techno zu... was auch immer.
Das war nur bedingt harte Arbeit für mich, weil ich immer noch sehr viel davon spiele, speziell die Tracks der X-Serien. Obwohl dies vor allem ein Techno-Mix ist, beinhaltet er auch bizarre Electro-Experimente z.B. von Drexciya. Ein Muss, um die Entwicklung der Electro-Sounds-Gründer und -Designer zu verstehen und einer meiner wichtigsten Einflüsse als Produzent. Ich war immer überzeugt, dass je mehr Stile du "bewerkstelligst" desto mehr öffnest du deine Message. Deshalb hab ich mich entschieden, diesen riskanten Mix zu machen und nicht einfach nur ein paar unreleaste Tracks zusammenzupacken, um mich selbst zu bewerben. Der Titel des Mixes sagt es: bring die Vergangenheit in die Gegenwart und gestalte die Zukunft. Dieses ist eine Hommage an ein Label, nicht an den DJ.
Der Grund dafür, dass ich soviele Jeff Mills Tracks gemixt habe, ist ihr Futurismus und damit das Risiko, das nach all den Jahren immer noch von ihnen ausgeht. Und sie sind essenziell, um die Labelphilosphie und die Entwicklung von Techno in der Welt zu verstehen. Für die neue Generation ist das vielleicht noch nicht so offensichtlich, deshalb halte ich es für einen guten Moment, sie dieser in diesem Zusammenhang vorzustellen."

Oscar Mulero is today counted among the world's most respected and talented techno DJ's. The Spanish artist entered the Tresor spectrum already at the turn of the century as a guest in Tresor Club and entered into the label's universe via his excellent remix of Pacou's track Diagonal on his "Last Man Standing" EP in 2004 (Tresor.209). It was clear that the powerhouse genius of this electronic music artist would continue to collaborate with Tresor, and in 2007 he released the sublime EP "Only Dead Fish Go With The Flow" (Tresor.230): rugged techno with sequencer wizardry that was an instant best-seller in our shop.
Now Mulero delivers an extraordinary mix of Tresor classics, many long out-of-print and some never released on CD or digital formats. 30 Tracks incl. Jeff Mills ("Flood", "Robot Replica", "Late Night"; X-101 ("Sonic Destroyer"); X-103 ("10,000 Chariots") ; Drexciya ("Dr. Blowfins Black Storm", "Under Sea Disturbances"); Surgeon ("Box", "At The Heart Of It all"); Pacou ("The Guards", "Flex"); Model 500 ("Light Speed"); James Ruskin ("Lahaine" OVR Mix); Maurizio ("M4") and many more. These are mainly taken from Tresor vinyl releases, including 3 rare tracks newly remastered. The Spanish techno commandant is welcome in our library, and he's turned out a masterful mix of quintessential Tresor tracks that any fan of both Oscar Mulero and Tresor will be proud to own.
Oscar Mulero about his work: "When the guys at Tresor asked me to do a dj mixed CD I felt more than happy. Tresor has been one of the key labels in my musical background, one of the labels more significant and relevant inside the history of the electronic music, even more if we talk about techno, a label that I have used very much in my DJ sets and that I have taken as a reference to form my style as DJ and producer. Another happy circumstance was the possibility of having the entire label's catalogue to choose among. Which means part of the best recent electronic music made in the last 20 years. This retrospective music selection gives me room to put together classic material as well as brand new stuff, merging different ages in one mix, ranging from electro to Detroit techno to whatever.
This was not a hard work for me as I still use a lot of that stuff in my recent sets, specially the tracks from the X-series. Although it's mainly a techno mix, it also includes weird electro experiments from Drexciya, a must for the understanding and developing of the electro sound of founders and designers, and one of my main influences as a producer. I've always thought that the more styles you manage, the more you open your message, that's why I've chosen to make a risky mix instead of a bunch of unreleased stuff or tracks for my self-promotion. The mix title is all about this: bring the past into the present to redesign the future. This is an homage to a label, not to a DJ.
The main reason for featuring so many Jeff Mills' tracks in this mix is the futurism and risk that emanate from them after the years, as well as them being essential for understanding the label's philosophy and the development of Techno in the world. For the new techno crowds this could be a little bit hidden and I think is a good moment to introduce them to a new generation. Also Jeff's tracks have been a major influence for me as a DJ and producer, and have helped me to develop my actual vision on techno."
