Robert Siodmaks dokumentarischer Spielfilm gilt als eines der wichtigsten Werke der ausgehenden Stummfilmzeit und gehört sicherlich zu den berühmtesten Vertretern der "Neuen Sachlichkeit". Der Film zeigt die Alltagserlebnisse fünf junger Berliner während eines Wochenendes, in dessen Mittelpunkt ein gemeinsamer Sonntagsausflug an den Nikolassee steht. Dokumentarische Aufnahme und dramaturgische Inszenierung verbinden sich hierbei zu einer modernen Momentaufnahme, die zugleich den Status Quo des Weimarer Kinos Ende der 20er Jahre reflektiert.

Pacou (Tresor Rec. / Berlin)
Pacou begann als Jugendlicher er mit dem Plattensammeln, nachdem er durch zahlreiche Clubbesuche Acid, House und Techno entdeckt hatte. 1993 besaß er dann berseits an die 300 Dance-Vinyls und fing an sich Musik Equipment für eigene Produktionen zu besorgen. Zur gleichen Zeit etablierte er sich als
Stamm-DJ und Liveact im Tresor Club. Pacou ist ein Vertreter des klassischen Techno und zählt bis heute zu den wichtigsten Acts des Tresor Clubs und dem angeschlossenen Label Tresor Records.

Medy Soul (Tresor/ Berlin)
Weltbürger Medy Soul lebt seit 1987 in Berlin. Ende 1992 war er einer der Mitbegründer des ersten DJRadiosenders Berlins, Kiss FM, das seiner Zeit Sprachrohr der Berliner Club-Szene war. Bis zur Jahrtausendwende produzierte und moderierte Medy hier tägliche Shows. Seitdem verlagerte sich sein Interesse hin zu Musikproduktionen und Sounddesign. Als studierter Toningenieur produziert er heute für mehrere Berliner Radiosender, ist aber nach wie vor ein "Slave to the Rhythm" und legt europaweit in Clubs auf. Medy Soul ist Resident im Globus und unsere Fachkraft für Housemusik mit Tiefgang.

Tofa (Sfunited, Tresor / Berlin)
Tofa ist ein medialer Allround-Künstler. Seit 1996 programmiert er Musik und kombiniert dies seit 1999 mit Live Visual Performance. Als VJ hat er sich durch seine zahlreichen Arbeiten mit Künstlern wie Marky, Westbam, Dave Clarke und Theo Parrish einen Namen gemacht. Für den Tresor Club realisiert er unterschiedliche Artworks und verbindet Zukunftsvisionen mit international inspiriertem Zeitgeist.

Die Geschichte des Tresors ist untrennbar mit der von amerikanischen Musikern wie Jeff Mills, Blake Baxter und dem Projekt Underground Resistance verbunden. Im Tresor fand Detroit-Techno Anfang der Neunziger die perfekte Basis für eine weltweite musikalische Revolution. Am zweiten Standort in Berlin-Mitte wird mit einem weltweiten Netzwerk an der Weiterentwicklung von Musik und neuen, zeitgemäßen Wegen der Clubkultur gearbeitet. Mit dem Tresor in Peking schafft der Club einmal mehr eine Brücke zwischen Ost und West. Die Präsentation von medialer Kunst und die Förderung von jungen musikalischen Talenten sind elementare Bestandteile des Konzepts.

"People On Sunday"

Robert Siodmak's semi-documentary film is regarded as one of the most important of the silent era and is therefore included in the most exceptional of the "new objectivity" films of the 1920s and 1930s. The film shows the daily life of five young Berliners on a weekend in which they all go to the Nikolasee lake for a Sunday outing. Documental shots and dramaturgic staging together form a modern glimpse of the moment that also reflects the status quo of the Weimar film culture at the end of the 1920s.

Pacou (Tresor Rec. / Berlin)
Pacou is rock in the Berlin electronic music scene. As a youth he began to collect records after discovering acid, house and techno in numerous clubs. By 1993 his collection had reached 300 dance vinyls and he began to acquire music equipment for his own productions. At the same time he established himself as resident DJ and live act in Tresor Club. The high reputation of Tresor allowed Pacou gigs all over Europe, Australia and Japan. Pacou is a representative of classic techno and is counted among the most important of Tresor Club and Tresor Records artists.

Medy Soul (Tresor/ Berlin)
World citizen Medy Soul has lived in Berlin since 1987. At the end of 1992 he was one of the co-founders of one the first Berlin DJ radio stations Kiss FM that was at the time a channel for the Berlin club scene. Until the millennium Medy produced and moderated daily shows. Since then his interests have turned towards music production and sound design. As a trained sound engineer he produces today for many Berlin radio stations and remains a "slave to the rhythm" while playing in clubs all over Europe. Medy Soul is a resident on Tresor's Globus Floor and our expert for definitive house music.

Tofa is a an all-around media artist. Since 1996 he has programmed music and combined this since 1999 with live visual performances. As a VJ he has established himself through numerous gigs together with Marky, Westbam, Dave Clarke and Theo Parrish. For Tresor Club he has created many different artworks and wall illustrations which connect his futuristic visions with international inspired Zeitgeist.

The story of Tresor is unseparable with the American underground project Underground Resistance and Detroit legends Jeff Mills and Blake Baxter. In Tresor Club the Detroit techno style found its perfect home in the early nineties that became a base for a worldwide musical revolution. In the second location in Berlin-Mitte new horizons in a network of worldwide musical development becomes possible with growing enthusiasm in regenerated club culture avenues. With Tresor in Peking, a new bridge between east and west becomes a reality. The presentation of media art and the support of young musical talent are integral elements of the concept.
